England

Regarding the report on The Crowded House, Sheffield, England:
In the "other place" spot the reviewer informs us that as part of
the message two people gave their testimony and that later there
were prayers for local people. The reviewer comments that this "was
boring", which is why it was like being "in the other place."
I appreciate that the reviewer doesn't know the people prayed for,
but surely it is good that the church prays for people they know.

I'm sorry that the reviewer found the personal interview and prayers
for the people at The Crowded House, Sheffield, boring.
I happen to be one half of the couple interviewed that morning.
It was our final day with the church we helped begin twelve years
earlier, before we moved to another European country to work with
a different church.
It was a very meaningful church service for us and, I daresay, more
important than the colour of the paint, etc.

St Hilda replies:
The Mystery Worshipper process includes our finding something wrong,
regardless of how small, with the service. This was the only small
niggle I had in a service that overall I admired very much.
And I would like to send very sincere wishes to you and your husband
in your future work for Christ.
