STRANGLING TRADE At Rachel’s tomb, an important holy site in Bethlehem, the wall completely encircles the tomb, totally cutting it off from the local community. Eight Palestinian shops next to the tomb once thrived here from the trade brought by pilgrims and tourists. Seven of the shops have closed since the wall was built and the shopkeepers have left.
